Sarah Mortimer BA ARAD PDTD

Sarah was born in Kent and started dancing at the age of 9. She studied various genres including ISTD tap, modern, jazz, cecchetti and ballet, all to an advanced level. After attending as an associate of London Senior Ballet Sarah went to Ballet West, Scotland at the age of sixteen and graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Classical Ballet and Dance Performance.
Sarah has toured Scotland and China with Ballet West Company, performing roles such as The Snow Queen in The Nutcracker and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. Sarah has been with Ballet Theatre UK for the past four years and her roles there included, Clara in The Nutcracker, The White Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, Belle in A Christmas Carol, Black Swan in Swan Lake, The Little Mermaid in A Little Mermaid, The Princess in Aladdin and Gerda in The Snow Queen.
Sarah has been awarded distinction in all her major RAD exams and took her Solo Seal. She was the only British finalist in the Genée International Ballet Competition held in Cape Town, South Africa in 2010. She has also been on various TV shows including BBC Alba Dannsa as a featured dancer and BBC’s Inside Out. Sarah has recently trained at the RAD as a registered teacher to gain a Professional Dancer’ Teaching Diploma. Sarah has been guest teaching at a number of schools including The School of Ballet Theatre UK, Masters Performing Arts College, Ballet West Edinburgh Associates and South East Ballet Scholars.
